Christ Church's executive team provides strategic and tactical oversight of the organization and all of its affiliates by facilitating excellence in both business and spiritual functions.
Dr. David Ireland, Senior Pastor
Dr. David Ireland is founder and senior pastor of Christ Church in Montclair, New Jersey, a 5,000-member congregation of 40 nationalities. Known as the teacher we understand, Ireland is diversity consultant to the National Basketball Association and leads chapel services for the New York Giants and New York Jets football teams. He is a frequent speaker at the U.S. Pentagon and at international leadership conferences. The author of a dozen books, including: Secrets of a Satisfying Life and Failure is Written in Pencil, Dr. Ireland has appeared on The Dr. Phil Show, Fox & Friends, The CBS Evening News, and the 700 club.
Domestically, through his community development corporation, relevant family services are provided including: Winner's Wait, a teen abstinence program; Youth Leadership Instate; and The Abigail Project - a transitional living facility for victims of domestic violence. Internationally, Dr. Ireland strives to meet felt needs in some 35 countries via his mission’s organizations, World-Reach. In the Dominican Republic, he established MIMED, a low-cost, high quality health clinic serving 150 patients per week.
Dr. Ireland holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering (Fairleigh Dickinson University), graduate degrees in civil engineering (Stevens Institute of Technology) and theology (Alliance Theological Seminary). He has an earned doctorate degree in organizational leadership (Regent University) and completed post-doctoral work at the University of Pennsylvania. The Rev. Ireland serves on the boards of Nyack College and Alliance Theological Seminary.
He and his wife, Marlinda, have been married since 1984 and have two daughters.
Pastor Marlinda Ireland, Director, Performing Arts
Marlinda serves as the Worship & Creative Arts pastor of Christ Church. She is a candidate for a master’s degree in theology from Alliance Theological Seminary. She and her husband, Dr. Ireland, founded the church in 1986 with only six other adults. An accomplished musician, Marlinda is widely known as a facilitator of dynamic worship because of her consistent dependence upon the guidance of the Holy Spirit. She is often called upon to lead worship at conferences throughout the United States as well as teach the topic. Her insightful approach to the scriptures has been highly commended by many church leaders. Marlinda is the author of the book, What is God Waiting For?, published by Regal Books.
Anthony Franklin, Senior Associate Pastor
Anthony Franklin is the Senior Associate Pastor of Christ Church. He has served alongside his Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. David Ireland for over 20 years, and directs the church’s small group system. Under his leadership a large network of small groups—consisting of Christ Church members and friends, meet regularly for an informal time of prayer, Bible-discussion, and relationship building activities. Among his many responsibilities Anthony also provides oversight to various ministries including the men’s ministry and marriage builder’s ministry.
A prolific musician and worship leader, Anthony uses his musical gifts to facilitate intimate moments in the presence of God. His preaching and teaching ministry has taken him beyond the walls of his local church to strengthen the body of Christ in the U.S., and overseas.
Pastor Anthony holds a Master’s degree in urban ministry from Alliance Theological Seminary. He and his wife Barbara met at Nyack College and have been happily married since 1981. They are the proud parents of two daughters, Tara and Jessica, and one granddaughter, Gianna.
Pastor Ron Gonzalez
Pastor Ron Gonzalez serves as associate pastor overseeing the pastoral care ministry of Christ Church. Best known for his distinct shepherding gifts, Pastor Ron provides direction to the counseling center, support groups, prayer, visitation, and follow-up ministries. He earned a master's degree in professional studies from Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, NY.
Brian Jacks, Associate Pastor, Stewardship
Rev. Brian Jacks is the Stewardship Pastor at Christ Church. During his more than 10 years of membership with the church, Rev. Jacks spearheaded the “Touching Tomorrow Today” and “Imagine More” capital stewardship campaigns and has served as a small group leader. Most recently, Rev. Jacks assisted in the launch of Christ Church’s new Financial Empowerment Ministry. He has over 22 years experience in the telecommunications industry and has held a number of leadership positions at both Crown Castle International (CCI) and Verizon Wireless. Currently, he is a partner in Shop for Missions, an entrepreneurial/philanthropic venture. Rev. Jacks holds an Executive Masters in Technology Management (EMTM) from both the Engineering and Wharton Schools of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University. Rev. Jacks and his wife, Alesia, have two children, Christopher and Iana.
Rupert A. Hayles, Jr., Chief Operating Officer
Rupert is the Chief Operating Officer of the organization. He provides oversight to the administrative staff, the church's subsidiary corporations, media activities, conferences and special projects. With dual degrees in Accounting and Management Information Systems and graduate degrees in Finance and Decision Sciences from The University of Pennsylvania's prestigious Wharton Business School, Rupert brings a wealth of advanced training and experience to the organization. He served as an officer in the United States Air Force before going on to hold several senior level strategic planning positions in the field of Information Technology at Prudential Insurance Company of America, Cytec Industries, Inc. and Merck & Company. Rupert is an adjunct professor of Strategic Technology Management at Stillman School of Business, Seton Hall University, a lecturer with the American Management Association, a global leader in management training and professional development. Rupert is author of the book, Practical Strategy: Aligning Business with Information Technology and a forthcoming book, Practical Strategy: Emotional Intelligence and the Church.
Alex K. F. Wu, Chief Financial Officer
Alex is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Christ Church. His experience in senior-level financial management includes international business, accounting and financial reporting in diverse industries. Previously, Alex served as CFO at KESCO Shipping Corporation, in Springfield Gardens, NY and as CFO at Mikron Instruments Corporation of Oakland, NJ. He is also fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese.
Terry Trayvick, Organizational Consultant
Terry is an Organizational Consultant and a seasoned business leader with demonstrated skills in business and organization alignment, turnarounds, change management and transformational leadership. He has more than 20 years of experience leading teams of thousands to achieve outstanding results. In 2000, Trayvick was tapped by the CEO of RR Donnelley to lead the transformation of the 30,000 employee Donnelley Print Solutions Group. Key to transforming the company was Trayvick's expertise in strategy, structure and culture alignment. In 2002, Trayvick was assigned the role of President of the 5,000 member, $500 million Global Financial Markets Group. As a result of his leadership, the business turned from a loss position of $20M to a gain of $60M within a 3 year period, and picked up significant market share versus its number one competitor. In 2005, Trayvick was asked to lead the consolidation and turnaround of the $1 billion Dynamic Communication Solutions Group as President. Trayvick is currently Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Mission Business Solutions, a company focused on utilizing commerce to provide funding for nonprofit organizations.
Other past and current involvements include Trustee of Big Brother/Big Sister of New York, Board Member of World Aid New York and of Arizona State University's Center for Services Leadership, Advisory Board Member for Neo-IT, Inductee into Leadership Greater Chicago and Board Member of Seigwerk Ink, U.S. Terry has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Management from the University of Cincinnati and a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University.
