About Us

Creating Healthy Communities through Compassionate Service

IMPACT Community Development Corporation (IMPACT CDC) was established in 2001 as a non-profit 501c (3) organization. As an outgrowth of Christ Church, a non-denominational church based in Montclair, New Jersey, IMPACT CDC has rapidly emerged at the forefront in addressing a broad range of complex factors affecting economically distressed youth, families and communities.

The mission of IMPACT Community Development Corporation is to enhance educational and leadership opportunities for youth; to provide a safe haven to women whom are victims of domestic violence and their children; and to increase the availability of affordable housing to low income working families.

Within the first three years of operation, IMPACT CDC began administering over $600,000 in annual operating revenue, and currently delivers programs that serve well over 400 youth and families each year. IMPACT CDC presently operates three main program and operational areas (1) "Winners Wait" program - A community - and curriculum-based abstinence education program for middle and high school youth (Learn more); (2) "Youth Leadership Institute" - A recent initiative to develop the leadership skills and understanding of civic commitment for adolescent youth (Learn more); and (3) "Abigail Project" - A supportive transitional housing program that provides a full continuum of housing and support services for battered women and their children (Learn more).
